Falling for Fashion!

Hello Monday!

Today was the first fall day, with temps and a breeze below 70.  In the morning, it's always the coolest and so it persuaded me to put on jeans rather than shorts.  I almost went for the skinny fit but I don't mind having a boot cut jean since it fits semi-snug until the ankle.  To accompany the jeans, I went with an interesting top which seemed like a simple elongated tank, but the reverse will give you a surprise!  The simple coloring looked like a Monday, where I felt stylish with stripes but it didn't take that much effort.  White is always a crisp, awakening color, especially when paired with pattern.  As far as the backside, the top has a thick chiffon of a dark grey which gives the tank top a new dimension.  Not only is it unique in the design, but the cut of the shirt made me fall in love with it!  It's an A-line top.   When put together with the belt, it gives the perfect cinched look and yet it also flows.  Shoe wise, I went with a simple black flat which also had it's own flare.  Thank You Lauren Conrad.

My Outfit Breakdown:

Black Flat with Feathers; Lauren Conrad. $45.99

Double Sided Striped Tank; Az Well's.  $14.08
Black Braided Belt; present.

End of the Week!

Hello again,

Although it's obviously not Sunday anymore, I have some catching up to do and I already took pics of the weekend's outfit.  Because barely anyone sees you Sunday, whew.  You can relax and wear comfy clothes.  But! Since it's a site dedicated to always keeping up a certain sense of style, I can demonstrate comfy class.  Above, I just wore coordinating colors.  Both pieces are semi-loose and they don't require any maintenance.  It was another 70 degree day too!  Both colors speak with a relaxed tone but has a girly side because of the tie in the middle.  As far as shoes went, flip flops are my Sunday choice, always!  Hair wise, I kept it simple.  The night before I didn't do anything, woke up to spritzing my hair with a little straightening product and just let it do its thing.

Cool Break

A Cool Summer Day!

Fall is approaching in a month or two, but today the weather had kicked back to the 70s with a breeze already!  With this in mind, I wore jeans today in a dark wash.  As for the top I chose a vintage vanilla blouse.  Both compliment each other, since navy blue and vanilla blend very well.  Throughout my blog, as I continue posting,  you will notice I favor darker hued jeans.  The color gives any outfit a more put together look and can really tone up a plain/pretty shirt.  My hair is in a simple side braid.  I really don't care for regular straight braids because half the time you can't see it!  My shoes are about 3 years old.  They have a darker vanilla color to it and beaded pattern on the front, and it's just a simple but chic as far as a sandal goes.  (Thank You Macy's!)

My Outfit Breakdown:

Beaded Sandal; Macy's. $27.00

Blouse; SCPA Rummage Sale. $6.00

Trend Alert, first

~Trends! Trends! Trends!

Right before school starts I made a list of pieces that I had to start school with!  What do they have in common?  They all start with P.
1. Pleats
2. Plum
3. Peplum
You have a seen a lot, and almost too much, of the pleats in mainly skirts and dresses.  It is a dressy detail to an outfit, but you can wear it without an occasion! I think that everyone should have a pleated garb.  Not only is the skirt/dress a classy addition, but it can be something that can be dressed down or up!

PLEATS!
Pleats-Pleats   pleats

The color Plum! is arriving in each store, slowly.  Teenage fashion might not pick it up very fast but it's definitely a color to look out for.  Just like pleats, it is classy and it can be worn for fancy event or just as a slouchy sweater color.  I love the dark hue; it makes your outfit vibe radiant warmth.

PLUM!

PEPLUM [My Favorite]

I tried finding this style, and not just in a skirt.  I love peplum shirts! They are bound to catch the eye of the rest of the world soon enough, but for now stay ahead of the game.  It is very flattering.  The cut makes the prettiest hourglass and gives off the impression you have style.

Can't wait for tomorrow!  The outfits will be going crazy with school in less than a week.

Weekend Simplicity

Hello & Cheers to the weekend!

Saturdays are the busier of the two days off, usually, so I would like to dress to impress but also so that I can be functional in it.  Since it's pretty cool outside, I almost wore jeans but decided that a skirt would be acceptable too.  I wear shorts under anyways!  Both pieces are flowy although the top does have some shape to it, so it doesn't look like my outfit is totally structure-less.  I kept the top white because it's not Labor Day yet so I'm soaking in the opportunities.  Also, any color, within the skirt's spectrum would have been fine, but the white gives the outfit its crispness and casual vibe.  Shoe wise I have a 1.5" black shiny heel.  Plus a chain strap purse with a little shimmer to it.  All together it took less time to put on the outfit than it did taking the pics!

My Outfit Breakdown:

Black Heel; Afani- Macy's.  $59.99

Tribal Skirt; Forever21.  $14.99

White Shrug Shirt; Victoria Secret's PINK. $16.50

Yes to Dresses

Tuesday!

Today has developed to be a really hot day! Thankfully the humidity won’t be matching the heat index.  Whenever the temps hit above 80 degrees. I tend to search for a dress or flowing type clothing.  I also considered what I wore yesterday, color wise, and choose a more vibrant color! With such a powerful outfit, I wanted to match the volume of the dress with (not matching) beaded shoes.  Yes, there are times when flip flops or a nice white sandal will do, but today I decided to keep the energy fun throughout my look.  Hair wise, I did a middle part and curled together the front pieces.  Most people shy away from the bolder hairstyle, but I believe it can be easy and drop dead gorg if you know how to wear it right!  Never have I appreciated the middle part + straight/messy hair combo (pretty women, not so cute hair):

Please.  A middle part must accompany soft curls or simply taken-care-of hair!  It can be a hassle to keep it up to picture-perfect status, but today I'm not embarking on any major task/chore so I have time.  In reality, Any hairstyle will do with a symmetrical dress, even an up do (simple).  Whether you like your hair up or down, this outfit can work with anything it is partnered with.

Dress; Charming Charlie's.  $$9.99.

Brazilian Sandals; Nine West.  $42.99

Simple & Short

Hello Monday,

Since school hasn't been initiated yet, Mondays don't seem very intimidating or hard yet.  Either way, Mondays are a chance to dress better than you feel. If you're an early bird than it gives you more of a head start than others. Although most Mondays have people wanting to crawl back into bed.  But don't dress like it...  Look better than you feel, so when you are in that grumpy mood you'll look good.  Why? You might catch a few compliments which will just improve your day, by a lot(:

Today, my chic piece was the classy ribbon-tie top.  Since you're going for that "looking good, feeling okay" vibe, an easy top/bottom will do.  You're just trying to shine a little more, not go GaGa, crazy all over.  Accompanying a classy piece takes subtle shorts and shoes.  Draw attention to one area and one area only.  Weekends, you can go crazy cute!

My Outfit Breakdown:

Ribbon-Tie Shirt; Forever 21. $15.99
Dog; mix/mut. priceless.

*Black Shiny Sandals; City Classics. $5.99

*With such a classy top, don't pair it with plain black shoes.  The material with a slight sheen will keep the tone you want to set, classy, without drawing attention away from the total look!
