Hello World!
Fashion has been apart of my life as long as I could button up my own clothes. Although my sense of style was a bit rough, and tailored by my mother, it was a start. PINK! No, not the Victoria Secret brand, but the color, was all I would wear. Stages of my life were filled with the girliest wardrobe, including lace, polka dots, and poof-y dresses. It wasn't until my middle school years (eww!) when I realized that wearing cookie cutter brands like Abercrombie and AE wasn't personal style. Alongside the discovery, my grandma purchased a sewing machine for me for my Christmas present! Still in use quite frequently. Not only do I shop for the most unique hues and patterns, but if I do see something that catches my eye but the price tag shoos my wallet away; I decide to make it. Fashion has become an integral part of my life, something I live and breathe daily.
What lead me to my bargain buys and carefulness to shopping? Grandma again! She is the master at finding what I want, at any store, followed by some discount. Why pay $100 when you can just as easily pay $35? Well, that's a good question that I still can't justify. Her and I seasonally shop. Winter and summer are our most successful seasons. It's all about knowing your selection of stores and what you want- from there a spectrum of prices will arise. Guaranteed. Thank Gma!
On the sewing side of things, I'm no couture creator. Purses were among my first projects and later came clothes, a lot later. Hemming is my weakness, and impatience can be my friend. Although, I have gotten better at long projects like dresses and shirts. I will admit following a pattern is too much for me, I just want to freehand...but most of the time I can control my artistic urges. I am quite thankful I know how to stitch on the machine and by hand. It is a talent most girls don't take up anymore, and something that will always be needed!
Starting this blog, the essential idea of it, derived from a Leadership Academy I took Back in July, 2012. If you are truly passionate about a certain subject/interest- Talk About It! Blog it! Although I'm not here to make money via the number of visitors per day, I want to post what I do and watch my followers' numbers rise. Sharing interests with others, grouping ourselves accordingly, is what we do. Blogs are just an extension of that habit and I thank everyone who visits my blog(: Stay classy!
